1st VISIT :

Customs Sticker

Customs Sticker:
This is how it all started, seized by the US Customs Department and sitting in Fajardo, Puerto Rico for 9 months waiting to be auctioned off. The general condition did not appear to be too bad until access was allowed a few days before the auction.

Rot hole in mast

Rot hole in mast:
We began to see there were deeper problems even before getting below. This photo shows where the rot from a previous repair had continued to spread. We are using the original mast but with approximately 30% new wood scarfed in after removing previous repairs and other problems found.

Helm with broken spoke

Helm with broken spoke:
"TRUE LOVE" shows the neglect that has brought her to this condition.

Split mast knee

Split mast knee:
One of the more serious problems is the split white oak mast knee showing the excessive loads it has taken as the structure around it has deteriorated. We are replacing any damaged knees with the same material.
