DELIVERY:
At
dock West Palm Beach:
"TRUE LOVE" finally arrives in Florida in
1 piece!!! After a month hiding from the strong weather
fronts experienced during the fall of 2002 the crew
gets anxious to get North in the Intercoastal Waterway.
Thanksgiving docked at Florida Marine and then North
on day trips.
Worn out Westerbeke:
The Westerbeke 50 put into the boat used a few years
ago has had a rough time of it. Although serviced in
Puerto Rico before departure and a new prop installed
the horsepower was still not there to push the boat
well.
Savannah,
1 rig out:
"TRUE LOVE" arrived at the Palmer Johnson
facility in Savannah late on a Friday, the crew had
the spars ready to be pulled on a cold, but perfect,
Savannah morning.
Main
mast out:
By mid morning both spars were out and blocked for rigging
removal.
Delivery
flag removal:
With more than a little ceremony the skull and crossbones
was removed and stored for another day.
"TRUE
LOVE" in the slings:
After we installed more interior temporary bracing "TRUE
LOVE" was cautiously hauled, inspected and loaded
onto a truck for the rest of her trip North to Bristol,
RI.
Sling
bow shot:
This bow photo shows the beautiful hull lines that make
"TRUE LOVE" sail so well.
Set
on trailer:
Inspected and approved for the road "TRUE LOVE"
is carefully set on the trailer of boat hauling specialist
Charlie Delbridge, owner of Miami Cradle.
Transom:
She looks tired as she gets ready for the final leg
of her trip North.
Night
on trailer:
After a very long day the spars are loaded and "TRUE
LOVE" is ready to go at first light.
