1-02 STARBOARD BULWARKS FORWARD
The poor shape of the top of the frames and beck beams can be seen here.
1-02 FORWARD IRON FLOOR REMOVAL
The badly rusted iron floors come out taking most of the rotten planking they rest upon.
1-16 FOREDECK
The foredeck comes off.
1-21 KEEL BOLT JACK
A hydraulic jack is utilized for to get the old keel bolts out.
1-31 HORN TIMBER REPAIR
Back aft it is discovered that the horn timber has some serious problems. A new section will be laminated in.
1-31 COUNTER EXPOSED
With access being a bit hard to this area it is not surprising that there is work needed here.
OAK UNLOAD
The oak limber for the new frames arrives. We will replace all 52 sets of frames with new laminated oak.
DECKHOUSE OFF
The deckhouse comes off, it is also rotten and racked out of shape from years of the boat twisting and hogging.
DECK WITH HOUSE OFF
Access is looking better.
CG PLANK STARBOARD AFT
We glue and screw in new oak to fill in the missing wood from all the frames that were notched into the oak keel over the years.
RUSTED IRON FLOORS
You can see how much of the metal has rusted away.
RUSTED KEEL BOLTS
This keel bolt was close to breaking.
CUTTING ROTTEN STEM
The top section of the stem had to be replaced.
OLD STEM
This shows why we had to put in some new wood.
VIEW THROUGH THE BOW
A picture we hope we don't have the opportunity to take again soon.
REMOVING PLANKS
We start to remove the old planking.
BROKEN DECK BEAMS
As the decks came off we found many reasons TRUE LOVE needed to be rebuilt.
1-22 TOP OF IRON FLOORS
All these badly rusted iron floors that hold the iron ballast to the hull planking will be replaced.
