NEW SPARS TAKE SHAPE
Only the foremast and boomkin were able to be saved although the foremast required lots of work.
SHAPE DEFINED
The shape of the boat takes shape after the frames and deck beams were cut to size.
STARBOARD QUARTER
IRON FLOORS
New iron floors installed.
ENGINE MOCK-UP IN PLACE
A mock-up of the new diesel was used to position the engine beds.
NEW MAIN MAST
It was determined the original Douglas Fir main mast was too far gone to repair. A new Douglas Fir mast was purchased in Oregon, turned round and shipped to Bristol. We then tapered the spar and fitted the new mast bands, winches, sail track and hardware.
PORT PLANKING
HORN TIMBER REPAIR COMPLETE
DECKHOUSE STARTED
The original deckhouse was racked and rotten around the hatched, ports and deck. A new deckhouse was also necessary.
SOLE BEARERE STARTED TO GO IN
The installation of the sole bearers made it much easier to work below.
DECK MARGIN BOARDS
The decks will be 2 layers of 5/8" Okume marine plywood. The margin boards are cut so the seams will not overlap.
STERNPOST
PROP MOCK-UP
A disk to represent the propeller is fixed to help locate the pilot hole for the stern tube.
WATERTIGHT BULKHEAD FORWARD
A watertight bulkhead was installed forward according to Coast Guard regulations.

MAIN MAST PARTNERS
The structure to support the loads from the main mast are new and installed following the original drawings from Alden.
